THE AFRICA INITIATIVE 2011: THE TRAINING OF NEUROLOGISTS
The Africa Initiative is one important element among the activities of the World Federation of Neurology (WFN). It is a collective term used for various WFN activities related to the development of neurology in the African region. They comprise training of new neurologists, establishing educational service in neurology, supporting new national neurologic associations, assistance in fundraising for neurology in this part of the world, traveling fellowships, support of public health activities in sub-Saharan Africa, and collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Federation of Neurological Societies (EFNS), and the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO).1
