Good Named Chair at Penn State
David C. Good, MD, was named Chair of the Department of Neurology at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine effective January 1, 2005.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to chair the department at a time of exciting development of the neurosciences at both the Medical Center and the College of Medicine,” said Dr. Good. “Expansion will occur in our research mission and in our educational mission, including growth of the neurology residency and medical student teaching programs. As a relatively new independent department, neurology at Penn State Hershey Medical Center anticipates a bright future at our institution.”
Dr. Good completed his undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Wisconsin and served his neurology residency and stroke fellowship at the University of Minnesota. Most recently, Dr. Good was Professor of Neurology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Director of Rehabilitation at that institution. His primary research interest focuses on cortical plasticity during recovery from stroke and novel treatment paradigms to enhance motor recovery following stroke and brain injury. Dr. Good has held leadership positions in a number of national and international neurology and neurorehabilitation organizations. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and has served on the Annual Meeting Subcommittee, Committee on Sections, Annual Meeting Scientific Program Subcommittee, and on other subcommittees and task forces.
American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) Certification and Recertification Update
The following have successfully completed the certification requirements of the ABPN. ABPN certifications and recertifications expire on December 31 (10 years following the date of examination).
