SRINIVASAN LECTURES
Each year the T.S. Srinivasan Department of Clinical Neurology and Research of the Public Health Centre of Madras, India, invites a neurologist of international repute to visit the Centre and deliver the T.S. Srinivasan Endowment Lecture in the Neurological Sciences. The Department instituted the lecture as an annual tribute to the late Sri T.S. Srinivasan, a leading industrialist in India whose generous contribution made the Centre and lectureship possible. The Public Health Centre serves the poorer members of the community with the support of humanitarian benefactors. Dr. Krishnamoorthy Srinivas, DM, FRCP (London), FAMS, is the head of the Department of Neurology, overseeing delivery of high-quality, modern neurologic care to more than 1,000 patients annually. The lectureship was established in 1973. Many prominent neurologists have lectured at the Centre. In 1999, Professor Sid Gilman spoke on “The Challenge of Alzheimer’s Disease.” Professor Timothy Pedley has been chosen to lecture in 2000 on “The Treatment of Epilepsy in the New Millennium.” FIGURE
