Hippocampal mean diffusivity and memory in healthy elderly individuals: A cross-sectional study
Seventy-six healthy individuals (44 men and 32 women), ranging in age from 20 to 80 years, were recruited from 2005 to 2008. This study found that memory decline was related to enhanced mean diffusivity at the level of the hippocampal formation, which may predict future development of Alzheimer disease.
