WORLD STROKE CONGRESS
The 5th World Stroke Congress will take place from June 23–26, 2004, in Vancouver, Canada, in the modern Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Center—a few hours from spectacular forests, grand mountains, and picturesque inlets. World Stroke Congresses are held every 4 years and sponsored by the International Stroke Society. The Vancouver Congress is cosponsored by the Canadian Stroke Consortium and the National Stroke Association of the United States. Congress co-chairs are Vladimir Hachinski and John W. Norris.⇓
The 5th World Stroke Congress is expected to attract 2,000 registrants from all regions of the world. Approximately 1,000 abstracts are being considered for presentation. A program of scholarships will offer grants consisting of registration and 3 days lodging; applicants must have an abstract accepted and be residents of any of 150 developing countries listed by the Congress secretariat in the advanced program and Congress Web site.
